Byron Bay is a popular beachside town right in the far-northeastern corner of New South Wales, Australia. It is 700 km north of Sydney and 150 km south of Brisbane. Cape Byron, is the town close to the villa and is the eastern most point of mainland Australia.
Tropical waters and warm temperatures make this a popular area for scuba diving and snorkelling. Cape Byron Marine Park is only a few minutes boat ride from the main beach.
The town has several beaches which are popular for surfing. The resort is a popular destination for all kinds of tourist, backpackers often travel along the Australian coast, and the scenery attracts sky divers. The area is also a favourite for its wildlife, and the whale watching industry plays a significant role to the local economy.

The three largest cities of New South Wales are Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong, all three are near to the centre of the narrow coastline extending to cool areas on the far south coast to subtropical areas near the Queensland border.
The Central Coast lies between Sydney and Newcastle, with the North Coast and Northern Rivers regions reaching northwards to the Queensland border.
New South Wales has more than 720 national parks and reserves covering more than 8% of the state. Parks range from the rainforest, waterfalls and the bush to marine wonderlands and outback deserts.
Major art galleries in New South Wales house a significant collection of art and contemporary paintings. Museums include the Australian Natural History Museum, the technology and arts-and-crafts museum, and the Sydney Maritime Museum which focuses on Australia's maritime history of Sydney.
